“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist when he grows up” – Pablo Picasso.

Picasso changed modern art with his bold imagination and child-like drawings. He is a co-founder of the cubism and collage art styles and has strongly influenced other modern art styles.

Anyone can paint like Picasso. You can too! In this beginner’s course, you will find how easy it is to paint in Picasso’s styles. You will get to try with a variety of paint mediums as well – oil pastels, tempera or acrylic paint and collage.

You will get guidance from our artist who will give you feedback on your works.

In 1938, Picasso painted Le Coq, which means “The Rooster” in Spanish. He looked at the bird’s stiff movement and contorted face and used bright colours to colour it in. It is a good first Picasso piece to try. Instead of white paper, we will use bright coloured oil pastels on black paper. Watch how our artist created her Le Coq, fast and simple!
